On August 10, 2024, President Davis unveiled his presidential initiative, Heroic Hands, honoring those in the public service workforce and highlighting the value of having a career in public service.
NCACC President and Warren County Commissioner Tare “T” Davis was handed the Association gavel at the 2024 NCACC Annual Conference in Forsyth County. During the conference, President Davis unveiled his presidential initiative titled, “Heroic Hands: Celebrating Public Service,” with a mission “to highlight the value of having a career in public service, to work with state leaders and partners to promote workforce training needs in local government and to help create a better pipeline of public service employees to fill county jobs.”
Throughout this presidential year, President Davis will call on his fellow county leaders throughout North Carolina and encourage each county to raise awareness during community events that honor the public service workforce. Davis will also tap into partner organizations to help promote the value of local government public service by recognizing the life-saving skills that come through the many career paths working directly with the public to provide help and support to the people who live in our communities. “We must choose to invest in our future workforce. We must train, and we must work to advance from within,” said President Davis. “Together, we will continue to work toward a common goal of making North Carolina great.”
