City Manager

The City of Havelock, population 18,193 seeks an experienced City Manager with strong leadership, staff development, decision making and communications skills and mature judgement. A full-service City, Havelock operates under the Council-Manager form of government and has had 5 managers in the last 30 years.  The ideal candidate has strong effective decision-making and problem-solving, visionary leadership, collaborative team management and development, emotional maturity, communications skills that create transparency, and strong commitment to public service and community relations. The City values high ethical standards, willingness to learn about and effectively engage with the military interest in the community, and interest and skill in economic development, project management, utility management and community planning. Salary range is $185,000 - $230,000 depending on qualifications with competitive benefits. Requires BA/BS in public administration, business management, civil engineering, planning or related field and considerable municipal management experience; prefer MPA and ICMA Credentialed Manager.  Experience working collaboratively with military personnel and organizations is  preferred.
