Asheville, N.C. – The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) extends sincere gratitude to all those who participated in our February 11, 2025, event in Buncombe County. This second convening was organized by the NCACC, the North Carolina League of Municipalities (NCLM), and five western regional Councils of Governments (COGs) — Foothills Regional Commission, High Country Council of Governments, Land of Sky Regional Council, Southwestern Commission Council of Governments, and Western Piedmont Council of Governments. The gathering was a great opportunity to unite local leaders, state agencies, and community organizations to discuss and address the critical challenges and resources related to disaster recovery across North Carolina counties.

Also present at this convening were several key organizations, including the Governor’s Recovery Office for Western North Carolina (GROW NC), FEMA, the North Carolina Treasurer’s Office, and the Dogwood Health Trust. These vital partners, among others, played a crucial role in sharing their expertise, resources, and support to help counties recover and rebuild following Hurricane Helene.

The event facilitated meaningful conversations, provided valuable networking opportunities, and highlighted the importance of continued collaboration across government agencies and community organizations. We are grateful for the dedication of all our partners and participants in making this second convening a success, ensuring that every county has the tools needed to rebuild and thrive.

The NCACC remains committed to supporting North Carolina’s counties in every way we can. We are proud to contribute to the ongoing recovery efforts and look forward to working together with our partners to build a stronger, more resilient North Carolina.
