In response to the communication challenges faced by several western counties during Hurricane Helene, the NCACC partnered with Julie Parker Communications (JPC) through a three-month consultancy to support local governments in managing misinformation and navigating crisis communications.
As a result of this partnership, JPC developed a series of crisis communication tools and templates designed specifically to assist counties in planning for and responding to emergencies. Over the course of the engagement, JPC also delivered several webinars, hosted office hours with county staff, and provided practical, ready-to-use resources tailored to the unique needs of local governments. These materials are now available to all counties as part of the NCACC’s ongoing effort to strengthen local communication strategies.
The resources include a comprehensive, customizable crisis communications guide that can be adapted to fit your county’s needs and integrated into existing emergency management plans. These tools are intended to offer clear, actionable guidance and ready-to-use templates to support you in times of crisis.
If your county is currently experiencing a communications crisis and needs immediate assistance, please contact the NCACC Communications Office at [email protected].
