The Member Engagement Coordinator serves as a first point of contact for members and is responsible for fostering strong relationships through effective communication, database management, and event logistics. This role ensures seamless experiences for county commissioners, clerks, and other county staff in their interactions with the Association regarding membership information, events, and collaborative opportunities. This position is based in Raleigh, North Carolina with the option to occasionally work remotely and reports to the Director of Member Engagement.

The hiring range for this position is $55,000 - $58,000.

Responsibilities:

  • Event Coordination: Oversees the end-to-end registration process for in-person and virtual events managed by the Member Engagement Department. Processes registration modifications, including cancellations, changes and refunds as needed. Attends events as needed to lead the registration or check-in process and assist with on-site event needs.
  • Database Administration: Manages and updates the membership CRM to ensure accurate contact records and track event participation. Serves as a subject matter expert on the CRM for fellow Association staff.
  • Member Liaison: Coordinates directly with clerks and government staff to ensure their needs from the Association are met. Acts as a primary point of contact for member inquiries, providing high-touch customer service via phone and email. Leads the management of county job postings on our website.
  • Onboarding & Retention: Executes onboarding strategies for new members. Uncovers opportunities for members to connect with one another as a benefit of their membership.
  • Communications Support: Assists in providing content for newsletters, social media updates, and website to keep members informed and connected. May provide additional communications support.
  • Annual Awards: Leads the coordination of the annual awards; collaborating with other staff as needed.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Coordinates volunteers for events as needed. Assists the finance and legal departments to track per-person costs for events. Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary

The hiring range for this position is $55,000 - $58,000.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Associate degree with two years of work experience in customer service, member relations, event planning, communications or administrative support, preferably within a government or nonprofit setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of event planning best practices; knowledge of basic contract terms and processes; understanding of budgeting and cost management, particularly for event planning and execution; comprehensive knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and office assistance techniques; thorough knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; proofreading skills and attention to detail; skill in operating standard office equipment including a personal computer; ability to type and perform word processing and/or data entry accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed; ability to keep office records and to prepare accurate reports from file sources; ability to prepare effective correspondence on routine matters; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public; ability to follow oral and written instructions; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, website Content Management Systems and membership database software.

Proficiency in CRM software, project management software (Monday.com), Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom).
