Operation Green Light

More than 700,000 veterans reside in North Carolina’s counties.

Operation Green Light illuminates their service and sacrifice.

In support of military veterans statewide and across the country, this Veterans Day, the NCACC joins the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers (NACVSO) in inviting North Carolina counties to join Operation Green Light. This initiative shows support for veterans by lighting county buildings and infrastructure green from November 4-11, 2025. For more information on this initiative and steps to put operation green light into action, click here to view the 2025 NACo toolkit.

“By shining a green light, county governments and our residents will let veterans know that they are seen, appreciated, and supported.”

Operation Green Light is also an opportunity to raise awareness of the county resources available to veterans and their families. In keeping with the focus of shining a light on veterans, the NCACC 100 Strong Productions team produced The Veteran’s Battlefield: A Story of North Carolina’s Veterans. This documentary shines a light on the faces of our state’s veterans who need our help and the veteran service officers in our counties who are devoted to doing what they can to make life after the military the best it can be for our veterans. If your county is interested in hosting a screening of this documentary, please email [email protected].

We proudly stand with our counties as they recognize and honor the service and sacrifice of our military through this meaningful initiative. Operation Green Light is a visible way to show support for veterans across North Carolina, and we commend each county participating in this effort.
