Amplify Your County Story

This year's Annual Conference will feature a number of ways that you can amplify your County Story.

If you have a story to share on how your county successfully worked to overcome a problem or improve services, particularly those related to the youth or aging population, human services, economic and workforce development, or public input, email us at We will consider ways to help share your story.

Additionally, we would like to feature some of these stories in select conference workshops. If you would like your story to be considered for the program, contact Jason King, NCACC Director of Education and Conferences at (919) 715-0045 or Submissions received by June 9 will be given first consideration.

County Story Stage

Public speaking isn't easy, and it takes practice to effectively share a story. One great benefit of our Association of County Commissioners is peer networking and support; through constructive feedback, your fellow commissioners can help you become a better storyteller!

Our County Stage will be set up at the convention center. Use the stage to tell your fellow county commissioners about why you are serving your county, the changes you have seen in your county or the state, why the Association is important to you, or just to practice your public speaking skills.

This is a free-flow activity, but stories will be recorded to be used and shared later. We'll have instructions on the stage - just bring your story to tell and some of your peers to lend an ear.

LGFCU Excellence in Innovation Awards

The Excellence in Innovation Awards offer cash prizes to counties that develop successful programs that improve services to citizens. In addition to the cash awards, winning programs will be recognized at an awards reception during Annual Conference. Click here for more information, and to apply
