The Town of Catawba (population 610) is currently seeking candidates for Town Manager. Catawba is a town dedicated to small town values and a great quality of life. The town is well positioned along Interstate 40 between Hickory and Statesville and less than one hour from Charlotte. The Town Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the Town with 3 full-time and 13 part-time employees covering Public Works, Police and Administration. The FY20-21 general fund budget is $724,594 and the Powell Bill fund budget is $17,970.
The hiring salary range is $45,000 - $60,000, depending on qualifications, with a full benefits package. Position is open until filled with a first consideration date of March 15, 2021.
The Town Manager must be actively engaged with the community and its businesses through direct contacts and social media. Candidates must have the ability to relate well to the community and have the ability to partner with an engaged council to carry out the strategic priorities of the community. The position requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation with a Bachelor’s degree or Masters’ degree (preferred) in public administration or related field and some experience within local government preferred. Experience/training with planning and zoning administration is preferred but not required.
