Performs advanced skilled technical work in the planning, development, administration, and oversight of the County’s risk management and safety program. Responsible for investigating and processing workers’ compensation, automobile, property and general liability claims and filing accident investigations; coordinating and conducting safety and training programs; reviewing reported incidents; and conducting risk observations and determining strategies to reduce potential risks in work processes. Position requires thorough knowledge of the principles and practices relating to industrial safety and accident prevention; knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations regarding employee safety; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department directors, supervisors and associates. Performs related duties as required.


Based on experience.


Bachelor's degree in business administration with concentration in risk management and three to five years’ experience developing and administering company-wide risk management and safety programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina
