Brunswick County is seeking a Library Director to administer the operation of the Public Library system. This position supervises, plans, directs, administers and coordinates all activities and operations of the County Library such as preparing and monitoring budgets, approving orders and invoices, etc. Performs advanced reference and research for the public. Supervises department employees which involves such duties as instructing, assigning and reviewing work, maintaining standards, acting on employee problems, selecting new employees, appraising employee performance, recommending promotions, discipline, termination and salary increases. Is responsible for developing long range and short term planning; developing and preparing annual budget; and maintaining effective public relations for the Library System. Reports to the Deputy County Manager
$75,492 - $98,140
Master's degree in Library and Information Science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association and five years of recent public library administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina State Library.
