The City of Graham is searching for an involved professional to fill the role as the City's next Finance Officer.  Graham is home to over 17,000 residents and is the county seat of Alamance County.  The City is currently experiencing high growth due to a resurgence of its historic downtown coupled with unprecedented residential and industrial development.   Graham is known for having a sound financial position with a track record of excellent performance. 

This is a department head position that supervises eight full- and part-time employees and touches every facet of City Government.  The ideal candidate will be an engaged and skilled leader in all facets of the City's finances; including, but not limited to: budgeting, procurement, investments, debt management, internal controls, and capital planning.  The employee must exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative in performing the fiscal control responsibilities. Work is performed in accordance with established municipal finance procedures, local ordinances, and North Carolina General Statutes governing the responsibilities of local government finance.

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy or a related field and seven to ten years of progressively responsible experience as a senior level government executive, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree Preferred. Designation as a Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO) by the State of North Carolina or the ability to obtain certification within two years of employment or meet exemption requirements is required. The position also requires a valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License.  The selected candidate must be able to be bonded.

The salary range for this position is $75,178.43 - $115,404.94 annually.
