Graham County is accepting applications for a Director of Social Services position. This position serves as the executive officer for the Department of Social Services and requires work in a wide range of general management functions to ensure the Agency's adherence to all applicable local, state and Federal laws. The Director will manage a staff of 25 employees and will direct employees and their programs throughout the Agency. The position requires interaction with the community, local governing bodies, other government agencies and other officials. Sound judgment, analytical skills, strong leadership and a working knowledge of social work principles and practices are a must. Due to the size and limited resources of the community the ability to effectively manage the Agency budget and expenditures is also necessary.
The salary range is: $65,000.00 minimum depending upon experience and qualifications.
Master’s degree in social work and two years of supervisory experience in the delivery of client services; or a bachelor’s degree in social work and three years supervisory experience in the delivery of client services, one of which must have been in Social Services; or graduation form a four year college or university and three years of supervisory experience, two of which must have been in Social Services; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
