Social Services Director The Duplin County Board of Social Services is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of the Duplin County Department of Social Services (DSS). The Director works under the direction of the Board of Social Services and follows the policies of the Office of State Human Resources.
Primary responsibilities include administering programs of public assistance and social services established in NCGS 108A, administering the annual budget as governed by the Duplin County Board of Commissioners and serve as executive officer to the Board of Social Services (full Job Description available at www.duplincountync.com under the Employment Section) The department operates its office in the county seat of Kenansville, NC. The Duplin County Department of Social Services has an annual budget of $90 million and a staff of 122 employees.
Minimum $80,000 negotiable depending on education and experience
Master’s Degree in Social Work and two years of supervisory experience in the delivery of client services or a BS degree in social work and three years of supervisor experience in the delivery of client services preferred but equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Candidate must pass pre-employment drug screening, Criminal Background and DMV check.
Candidate will be required to live in Duplin County. Candidate will be required to assist county operations during a State of Emergency, disaster or other county event such as Hurricanes, Flooding, etc.
