Description
Job Duties and Functions
- To be answerable to and to serve at the pleasure of the County Manager and Perquimans County Board of Commissioners.
- To assist the County Manager in enforcement of all County ordinances.
- To assist the County Manager in HR Management.
- To assist in preparation of the County budget.
- To coordinate and prepare grant proposals for Perquimans County.
- To perform all other related duties as assigned by the County Manager, including special projects assigned by the Perquimans County Board of Commissioners.
- They shall, within 60 days of his appointment and thereafter as long as they are Assistant County Manager, reside in Perquimans County.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must possess ability to administer the County’s Zoning, Subdivision and all other ordinances.
- Ability to express complex ideas orally and in writing.
- Ability to make oral/written presentations before large groups.
- Ability to work with a variety of elected and appointed officials at various levels of government. Ability to exercise tact and courtesy in all contacts with agency representatives and with the general public.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
Salary
Assistant County Manager: (Grade 81 – Salary Range: $80,292 - $121,591)
Qualifications
Graduation from an Accredited Four-Year College or University with a Degree in Public Administration or related field. Â
A Masters within the Degree Field or significant experience as a leader in local government is preferred.
