Leading Your County Governing Board: An Orientation for County Board Chairs provides an overview on the legal responsibilities and duties for chairs and vice chairs, how to run a meeting, and tips for building and maintaining effective relationships. While this program is designed for board chairs and vice chairs, all commissioners can benefit from the training. County managers, clerks to the board, and county attorneys are also encouraged to attend with their board chairs.

- 1:00 p.m. — Session 3 – Social Media Management in a Crisis
- 2:15 p.m. — Break and afternoon snack
- 2:30 p.m. — Session 4 – Leadership and Communication Through a Disaster Response
- 3:45 p.m. — Leading Your County – Takeaways on how to communicate, inspire and lead
- 4:00 p.m. — Adjourn

Lodging is available at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Raleigh Crabtree, located at 4700 Creedmoor Rd, Raleigh, NC 27612. Payment by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) is required at the time of registration. Any cancellations made after Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, will not be refunded.
