Strategic Goals
Forward Thinking
In 2005, after a comprehensive long-range strategic planning and visioning process, the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) Board of Directors adopted 5 strategic goals. The goals were developed after consultation with numerous stakeholders and interested parties, including county commissioners, state legislators, municipal officials, representatives from other state county associations and others. The goals were created with the idea that they would help the NCACC continue its relevance to counties as it began its second century of service in 2008.
Every action taken by the Board of Directors is designed to further the achievement of one of the 5 goals. As with any strategic plan, there is no end point - the goals have longevity and ideas for advancing them continue to evolve. Each year the association undertakes organization-wide initiatives geared toward accomplishing 1 or more of the goals. Click on the links below to learn more about some of these initiatives:
