UNC-CH Wicker Scholarship applications due April 1

If you are a local government employee with a rising high school senior who is accepted next year by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, consider applying for the Jake Wicker Scholarship. Each spring the UNC-Chapel Hill Office of Scholarships seeks freshmen undergraduate applicants for this $1,000 scholarship.

The student must have at least one parent who has been continuously employed full-time by a North Carolina city or county government for at least five years prior to Jan. 1, 2008. The scholarship is awarded based on relative financial need and academic promise.
