  1. Closing the Wealth Gap Conference

    CREATE, a new initiative at the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, and the UNC School of Law are co-hosting this final event of a 3-part series in which thought leaders from different disciplines present to academic researchers, students, and community members on the ever-increasing wealth gap of the United States, and its ramifications for U.S. prosperity. The conference will cover a range of topics, including consequences of wealth inequities in America, the role of community investors in closing the wealth gap, practices of other countries with more narrow wealth gaps, the role of policy, places and technology in closing the wealth gap and, finally, solutions to addressing this problem.

  2. Regional Resiliency Workshop

    November 7, 2019, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM @ Lumber River COG

    The Regional Resiliency Workshops in the Mountain and Piedmont regions will bring together local and tribal government officials, local planners, businesses, community, faith-based, tribal organizations, and other stakeholders to share resources and perspectives on how the state can support communities in reducing climate hazards and impacts and build long term resiliency. Outcomes and feedback from workshops will help shape the development of the State's Climate Risk Assessment and Resiliency Plan.
