BUDGET ACTION PAVES WAY TO ADJOURNMENT
With action completed this week on the state’s 2006-07 budget, the General Assembly looks to adjournment of the 2006 session. Both the House and Senate approved the report of the conferees following the Independence Day weekend. Traditionally, we have come to expect another two or three weeks of legislative activity before adjournment. Action remains to be taken on legislation to authorize studies, a “technical corrections” bill, video services legislation, a series of ethics and lobbying reform proposals, and several environmental bills.
