'Ethics Training for Local Officials' qualifies for LELA credits
Public officials often find themselves in sticky situations. In such cases, what does the law prescribe and what is the “right” thing to do? The answer is often not black and white, unfortunately.
This informative session on ethics, to be held Aug. 27 at the Hickory Metro Convention Center in Catawba County, will provide an overview of public officials' responsibilities under federal and state law. The session also offers practical advice and solutions to guide local decision making. Norma Houston, an expert in the state's ethics law and a faculty member at the School of Government, will lead the session.
This NCACC pre-conference workshop is open to both county and municipal elected officials, managers, clerks and attorneys. Elected officials will earn credit toward recognition through the Local Elected Leaders Academy. Click here for the PDF registration form, or contact the NCACC at (919) 715-2893.
