Constitutional duties for NCACC First and Second Vice Presidents
Section 3, Article IV. First and Second Vice Presidents. The First and Second Vice Presidents shall consult with, counsel and advise the President. In the absence or disability of the President and President Elect, the duties of the President shall be performed successively by the First and Second Vice Presidents.
NCACC Second Vice President Brian McMahan (2008-09)
Jackson County Board of Commissioners Chairman Brian McMahan was sworn in as second vice president of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) on Saturday, Aug. 23, during the Association’s 101st Annual Conference, which was held in Craven County.

As NCACC second vice president, McMahan will work closely with the other members of the NCACC Executive Committee to guide the NCACC Board of Directors on legislative and administrative issues affecting counties throughout the year.
McMahan was elected to the Jackson County Board of Commissioners in 2002. He was appointed as chairman in March 2005 and was re-elected in 2006. McMahan has served on the NCACC Board of Directors since being elected District 17 Director in August 2005 and has served as on the NCACC’s Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee.
