NCACC Past President David Young (2008-09)

Buncombe County Commissioner David Young became past president of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners on Saturday, Aug. 23, during the NCACC’s 101st Annual Conference in Craven County.

As past president, Young will work closely with the other members of the NCACC Executive Committee to guide the NCACC Board of Directors on legislative and administrative issues affecting counties throughout the year.

Young joined the NCACC Board of Directors in 1994 and has been a member of its executive committee since he was elected NCACC third vice president in 2004.

Young is in his 16th year of service as a Buncombe County commissioner. He is the owner of Fugazy Travel in Asheville and is a member of the University of North Carolina Board of Governors, serving on the Budget and Finance Committee.
