NCACC Policy Statements
The association's policy statements address both broad and specific issues of continuing concern to counties, in the areas of taxation and finance, intergovernmental relations, human resources, environmental and elementary / secondary education. They provide guidance to association staff in carrying out their duties for advocacy and advancement of county interests.
The policy statements are an integral part of the association's lobbying activities and are considered a component of the legislative program in conjunction with adopted goals. The association's membership affirms and re-adopts the guiding policy statements. Beginning in 1999, approval or changes in policy statements are made at the Legislative Goals Conference, held every other year.
